In the documentary the footage for which Duffy had some friends film to document his rise to stardom we see events play out. The Da Vinci Code: The True Story

The Da Vinci Code was a great book and the film wasn't bad either, both made an absolute fortune for the author Dan Brown. Brown claims in the book that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were actually married and had Children thus there is a surviving blood line. A great story but the fact Brown in the book states the story is based on facts caused heated debate. In the book and film The Last Supper By Leonardo DaVinci is used to show Mary Magdalene sitting next to Jesus and untold gospels state they were indeed married. In this documentary The History Channel set out to find how much is fact, can claims made by Dan Brown be proven or was he seeing what he wanted to in order to build a story.

Goin' Down to South Park

Goin' Down to South Park defiantly falls into the Mockumentary genre with the creators of the show playing fictionalized versions of themselves. Made in 1999 only two years after the South Park TV show debuted on Comedy Central it is a funny sarcastic film in the style you would expect from the creators of South Park. With that said the documentary does tell the history of the show and some facts if you can sort them from the fiction.

The People Versus George Lucas

The People Versus George Lucas is a "hilarious, heartfelt documentary" that looks at the original legacy of Star Wars (and to a lesser extent Indiana Jones) and why he returned to these projects with for many people disastrous results. The original Star Wars trilogy had; for a movie an unmatched cultural effect on fans in the late 70's and early 80's. I guess you could compare it with the recent Harry Potter craze but much more extreme. It was a social phenomenon and in 1983 after the release of Return of the Jedi it was agreed Lucas had created a trilogy that had changed cinema and would take it's rightful place in popular culture.

So why then after 20 years did he return to Star Wars and after 9 years return to Indiana Jones ? Fans claim it was for greed or revamped notoriety but whatever the reasons they panned the movies. Because when a franchise is so successful and has such an effect on fans they in some ways claim a sort of ownership. The People Versus George Lucas is lighthearted but the people featured do seem to be genuinely upset he did not "Leave well enough alone".

Major Fraud : Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Scandal

In 2001 Charles Ingram won the jackpot of £1 Million ($1.51 Million) on the British version of the smash hit TV game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. But something was not right, the producers, floor staff and even other contestants waiting for their chance in the Fastest Finger First seats could feel it. But what was it; if Ingram was cheating then how Celador the producers went to great lengths to ensure contestants could not cheat there was after all Millions at stake. What followed was an investigation that involved Ingram and a man that was sitting in one of those Fastest Finger First seat called Tecwen Whittock.

This documentary covers how Celador believed Whittock was working with Ingram. They said Ingram and Wittock had contrived a scheme whereby Ingram would say out loud all the answers to each question and Whittock would cough when the right answer was said.It may seem bizarre but payment of the Million Pounds was suspended and the case dragged through the courts .Unlike a previous game show scandal documentary we posted Big Bucks : The Press Your Luck Scandal this had no blurred lines if guilty it was blatant cheating.

The show was never aired but in the documentary we get to see the show and hear the alleged coughs at just the right times.Staff, contestants and presenter Chris Tarrant (who admits he had no idea anything untoward was happening) give their views on what could have been the perfect crime had greed not taken over.

Big Bucks : The Press Your Luck Scandal

Press your luck was a popular daytime game show on CBS is the early eighty's running from 1983 to 1986.The show had two stage types, trivia to earn spins on a prize board then the prize board round itself. So a simple enough format and some generous prizes with contestants on occasion walking away with over $20,000. To get a good win you needed luck, no matter how good at trivia you may be.Money was won on lost on the prize board and that was random, or so they thought.

Michael Larson appeared on the show in 1984 and won an amazing $110,237 (Equivalent to a quarter million dollars today). That was three times more than ever won before on Press Your Luck, in fact it was the most money ever won on any TV game show. In the documentary presented by Peter Tomarken who was the actual presenter of Press Your Luck when Michael won looks back at the episode. Was Michael so lucky he avoided the dreaded "Whammy" which takes all your winnings on the prize board for over 30 spins in a row or did he know something nobody else did ?
