Lost Disney UFO Film: Alien Encounters

A UFO documentary made by Disney may seem strange and it's even introduced by Michael Eisner the then CEO of The Walt Disney Company. It can be explained, the 1995 film was mainly a publicity stunt to promote a new sci-fi ride at Disney World Florida called New Tomorrowland. The film does go on to investigate UFO sightings and possibility's in a very real way rather than perhaps a light hearted or mockumentary fashion one might expect.

Mr.Death The Rise And Fall Of Fred A. Leuchter

Frederick Leuchter Junior is an odd character with an interesting profession, and past. Leuchter is the son of a prison worker and as such he claims to have witnessed an execution when he was young. This was the start of a path that led him to working on electric chairs and instruments used for execution in prisons across the United States.

The film by Errol Morris introduces us to a slight geeky looking man who in his own words is doing a job someones gotta do. Even if that meant at times even taking his work home which he did when he took the electric chair from a Tennessee prison to his house to work on. If someone working on tools for execution was not enough for a good documentary the plot takes a twist as we learn of Leuchter's connection's to Ernst Zündel a published and Jailed Holocaust denier.

Reincarnation: The Boy Who Lived Before

Cameron Macaulay is just a 5 year kid old from Scotland yet since he could talk he has been recalling stories that sound like an old man would when remembering his past. He tells specific stories about when he lived in Barra Island which is over 200 miles from his home in Glasgow and a place he has never visited. Not surprising then that those around him came to the conclusion he was in fact telling tales from a past life. How else could a 5 year old tell such detailed and in many cases accurate stories from a place and time he could not know of.

In this documentary we meet Cameron and his family and along with experts such as psychologists Chris French and Karen Majors try to put meaning to the story. The documentary also brings Cameron for the first time to Barra Island to see how he reacts and what he remembers. Could this be proof of Reincarnation or a child's active imagination ?

Savant: The Boy With The Incredible Brain

Daniel Tammet is an autistic savant and this 2005 documentary tells his incredible story. Daniel has a skill set that is totally unique for example he can solve complex mathematical problems in his mind such as recite the numbers in Pi to 22,500 digits (So he in recalling 22,500 digits in sequence). He also knows nine languages and claims to have the ability to learn a language in just one week. In the documentary they test this by setting the task of learning Swedish in one week to a level whereon he could appear on Swedish TV and converse with the presenters in his new language.

It may seem strange to put someone with autism through testing for the making of a documentary but if Daniel's skills are genuine then we could find out so much more on how he does it. What part of the brain can Daniel tap into in order to carry out such exploits and could we all acquire such skills.
