The Challenge: A Tribute To Modern Art is a classic 1974 documentary Narrated by Orson Welles that was nominated for the Academy Award For Best Documentary in it's release year. The film captures modern art at a time when many of the great modern artists were still alive or recently passed and the value of their works was exploding at auction rooms around the world. We get to see these artists, among many others are Picasso (1881-1973), de Kooning (1904-1997), Dalí (1904-1989) and Matisse (1869-1954) at work creating their art and talking about the processes and meanings to them.
