Then we meet Walter Day, without Day none of this could happen he was the one to start collecting and verifying world record game scores in the 80's.Walter is decked out in his referees uniform and he takes this stuff ultra seriously (they all do). Now you would think as the 90's and 00's brought home gaming and arcades closed Walter would have moved on to something else but no he still clung to what was now being called retro gaming.
You build a respect for Mitchell and Day, they find this important and that's all that matters. And because of them games like Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Ms Pac Man, Galage and Defender said to be the big 5 in the film are not only being played today but people are still trying to beat world records.
Our final main Character (there are many others) is the challenger to Billy Mitchell's crown on Donkey Kong namely Steve Wiebe. Steve after being laid of from his job started playing Donkey Kong in his garage and quickly became good, so good he thought maybe he could beat the world record Donkey Kong score.Seth Gordon does what all good documentary makers do and focuses on the people that makes this a must watch and there are some twists along the way.
