When The Levees Broke A Requiem in Four Parts is a documentary by Spike Lee covering the devastating affects of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans in 2005. The film was broken into four parts all which can be seen below. In the documentary we see the devastation caused in New Orleans when the Levees (Flood Walls) broke in over 50 places. Over 80% of New Orleans was flooded, over 100,000 homes and businesses were flooded and almost 1,000 people lost their lives. The documentary interviews experts in a number of fields who look at how the disaster happened, how it might have been prevented and efforts to prevent similar future events. Lee however gives the main attention of the documentary to those effected the most by the New Orleans floods.
