The Trial Of Saddam Hussein
After the capture of Saddam Hussein in 2003 a number of proposals were put forward as to how he should be tried. Hussein was captured by American special forces and held in an American camp in Iraq, but the decision was made to have an Iraqi court try their former leader of 24 years. In the documentary we see footage of the trial and meet with both prosecution and defence lawyers, strangely including an American former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark who would become part of Hussein's defence. The trial was controversial from start to finish with some claiming justice was served and some including Amnesty International declaring it unfair.
