A Little Bit Of Elvis With Frank Skinner

A little bit of Elvis picks up the story of presenter and comedian Frank Skinner not long after he purchased a piece of Elvis Presley memorabilia. At an auction in the reputable Christie's in England Skinner forked out £11,200 ($16,790) for a Blue Velvet shirt said to be worn by Elvis at a concert in his birthplace Tupelo, Mississippi on the 26th September 1956.The shirt was put up for sale by a former bodyguard of Elvis and was accompanied by various pictures from the concert and a letter from the bodyguard one Dave Hebler verifying it's authenticity.

So even though Skinner had paid much more than he had planned at least he had a little bit of Elvis from when King of Rock and Roll was at his very prime, or did he ?

Subsequently Frank discovered other images from the concert and he noticed some subtle differences between the shirt worn by Elvis in Tupelo in 56 and the shirt now hanging proudly in his wardrobe. Enough differences for him to seriously question the Provenance of the shirt. Had he been duped by the bodyguard Mr.Hebler and sold a fake piece of memorabilia for over £11k ?

A man of action Frank decides to fly to America and track the history of the shirt Elvis wore in Tupelo, reportedly made by his mother. Looking to talk to friends of Elvis or anyone that could shed some light on his predicament as well as hopefully meet the Elvis bodyguard Dave Hebler.

Luckily for us Documentary Fans he brought a camera crew with him to make this very interesting documentary !
