Darts, so long a pub game by the late seventies had become a hugely popular televised
sport. The characters that played with such precision, the split screen to not only show were the dart hit but the emotions of the player at the same time had brought the game from pub floors to arena stages. By the mid eighty's all the top competitions were being televised, the sport was growing and the players were happy as they became household names. But in just a few years television coverage was dwindling and sponsors were pulling out; something needed to be done. So the top players went to
Olly Croft, the man that had formed the
British Darts Organization (BDO) either he took some action or the players would act alone.
In this documentary we meet
Olly Croft and the top players of the time such as
Eric Bristow to see how the game got split in two and dragged through the courts in a legal battle. It eventually resulted in every BDO world champion there had been quitting the BDO and creating what would eventually become the
Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). How did darts get split and who or what was behind the split that resulted in to this day two separate organizations and two separate World Championships Of Darts ?
